Embassy 007 Licence to Party..

Hello all..
A few months ago I attended a huge party for the Embassy cigarette company.. It was so well put together by a very popular Tanzanian brand managing company. It featured red carpets, black and gold decor, men in slick suits, women in red glamorous gowns who were covered in (fake)diamonds and enormous James Bond artwork draped everywhere.

I took some snaps of my outfit, which was simple. Black and white vertical stripped skirt with a black boob tube. Added platform heels from Office and a Marc B blue clutch bag.. See below.. face of the night coppers and golds with a very dewy finish. I liked this hairstyle on me :) though it doesn't stay neat very long especially in such a hot country!

Outfit of the night..

Photo time on the 007 Licence to Party backdrop at the venue..

Inside the venue pictures of the decor, myself and my girlfriends :)

When the real party started.. Ommy Dimpoz was performing Me & You with Vanessa

My friends and I were lucky enough to go back stage and take a picture with Ommy Dimpoz, very cool dude.

What a fantastic night this was.. And it was quite the reunion too as most of us went to high school together and met when we were 11/12 years old. All from various countries meeting at a hostel in boarding school In Malawi and now all in the same country working in Tanzania. Isn't God lovely for bring us back together again? You really do start appreciating good honest friends the older you get in life and realise it's nothing to do with quantity but quality. Hope you enjoyed this post. Until next time. Ciao.

Beach essentials and my Easter plan

Hello pumpkins..

Well as you know Easter weekend is fast approaching and most of us working class can not wait to have those 4 days off! Lie ins and fry ups at home while watching crappy daytime television, sounds ideal to me lol! Anyway others will be making their way to their home villages to visit parents & grand parents which is what a lot of people will be doing here in Dar es Salaam. The town will finally have a little peace and quiet.

Lucky enough for me.. I'll be going away with my significant other to http://www.hideawaynungwi.com/ which is in Zanzibar for the long weekend and I am beyond excited. It's absolutely gorgeous and we are looking forward to spending some quality time there together.

Some images of Hideaway of Nungwi Resort & Spa ..

HOW GORGEOUS??!!

Below is my beach guide.. Everything I think a lady should have when she's pool or beach side :)

Included in this first compilation are: a duffle bag to stuff all your items in, a pair of Sunglasses, three one piece swim suits, a pair of havanna flip flops, bronzer for that sun glitter glow on the skin and finally the very important sunscreen.. It is very important to protect your skin from the sun no matter what race you are!

In this second and last one there is the uber hot tiger print kimono, my favorite style in sunglasses, beach towels, cute pair of sandals in aztec print, Mini Ipod shuffle because some tunes while laying out is always good also reading material.. If you're laying out all day it's always good to have music, reading material, good company and my next item A DRINK lol. Ciroc is perfect for such time because you can just have it with fruit or some nice juice blends. Ladies remember to carry along with you some colorful, playful lipstick and these gorgeous rings to accessorize

Hope you all have great Easter plans and that you enjoy yourselves :-)

clean space, clear mind.

Hello lovelies..

I recently committed to seeking clarity + peace of mind.. making sure that it(my mind) doesn't run away from me. With the ever so challenging worlds demands to take up so much of our mental space, it is important to be able to priorities your thoughts otherwise you will live day to day feeling overwhelmed and heavy.

One suggestion I have is to meditate, which helps with calmness, great energy, positive thinking, lowers levels of anxiety and just being a little more stress free.

Personally I always feel that you can not gather your thoughts and increase relaxation in a messy environment. Your surroundings are the first step to achieving a more clear mind/expanded consciousness and gaining awareness.

One of the benefits of cleaning your external environment is the boost to your internal environment. Our living spaces, bedrooms, desks, cars and other external environments often mirror our internal environments which are made up of our thoughts, feelings and behaviors.

Clutter piles up and when I see this it really annoys me because I feel as though I cant focus or gather my thoughts because my surroundings are a mess. Its always best to take time to clean up, organize and freshen up the look of your external environments(home, car, work space etc) trust that it really helps.

Nothing beats coming home to a clean house. No mess, clean linen, tidy kitchen work tops and even a clean vehicle. It also says a lot about a person. Anyway below are a few images of clean environments. My personal favorites are sleek blacks and silvers, white on white(clinical i know lol)and hard wood environments.

Clean space.. Clear mind

Enjoy..

Home office design. How tidy is that? The neutral colours are amazing too. Calming.

A more industrial design.. A more male friendly environment yet it's still elegant.

This kitchen is so clean. So white I love it.. It should be a sin to leave it messy OMG stunning! I can already see myself blogging away on that kitchen island with a cup of tea by my side feeling all kinds of inspired. lol sigh. Work hard y'all!

I like the bathroom below but this would be a little extreme. You can see every corner of your bathroom from any point of position yikes! Being tidy in here would be an absolute must! I love the concept though.. Ceremic shiny tiles with that large glass as the divider. Chic. Tell me you wouldn't feel more collected after a shower or whatever else you do in bathrooms lol here?

Coming home to this room though.. so relaxing. I love this colour palette. I'm already relaxed just by looking at this dining room. Less is really more. The more junk and colours in a room the more the mind has to work to process it all.. I don't know about you but a home should be where you find your peace from the world. This room however indicates that who  ever owns it doesn't have toddlers running around lol.

And finally... Need I say more? Get some sleep

Take care of both your environments :)

A pick me up post..

Hello lovelies..

I recently made a lot of big decisions in my life that have and will alter it's direction completely. Change is very scary and often causes confusion plus discomfort but it is very important to stick it out. Believe that what you're doing will lead to many benefits in your life(frankly you should only want to make changes for the better, if not :/). The main big, life altering decisions that people(my age) will tend to usually make are for financial and emotional independence.

So this is that post that will help at such times when you feel like you're between a rock and a hard place, when you feel that things aren't entirely making sense. It is a post filled with quotes that have helped me and hopefully will do the same for you. Sometimes a quote can uplift my whole mood and make the load feel just a little bit lighter. Below are some that have helped me through some tough times..

Tough times don't last, tough people do.

Change is the law of life and those that only look to the past or present are certain to miss the future.

Believe that your life is worth living and your belief will help create the fact.

Happiness is like a butterfly, the more you chase it the more it will elude you but the moment you turn your attention to other things it will come and sit softly on your shoulder.

You were born with the ability to change someone's life. Don't waste it.

The soul always knows what to do to heal itself, the challenge is to silence the mind.

Remember that your reality is someone else's dream.

Don't carry your mistakes around with you. Instead, put them under your feet and use them as a stepping stone.

Some things fall apart for better things to come together.

Don't be afraid to  stand for what you believe in. Even if it means standing alone.

A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable but more useful than a life spent doing nothing.

You have to be happy, that's all that matters.

With that final quote I can end this post. Remember to be positive, nothing lasts forever.. Don't let your thoughts get you stuck in the moment.. Don't make stupid decisions that will only help short term because eventually everything will make sense. You are stronger than you than you know. Time and patience.

Take care

Since I've been gone

Hello Lovelies

Well it's been a while since my last post. Okay so more than a while over 2 years actually lol. So much has happened since the leaving of London which is where this whole blog journey begun. Within the two years I did a lot soul searching, lost motivation for this blog, worked in the cotton ginning industry and did a lot of travelling for that.

Below are some images of some of the cities that I traveled to that excited
me.

Shanghai, China

Quingdao, China

    Jinan, China

Dhaka, Bangladesh (the struggle to find a remotely decent picture of this city was too real hahaha eew.)

Mumbai, India

Of course I've traveled loads within Africa but I don't think those cities are worth the post lol. Currently i'm living in Dar es Salaam, I have a love hate relationship with this city though there's lots to do. A day at a time though :)

Glad to be back, stay tuned for more posts

OLD BUT GOLD POST.. Bow wow, Cafe de Paris et moi

So... lovelies i went to see bow wow in concert on Monday the 28th 2011 at Cafe de Paris in Piccadilly circus, London. It was really good! I've never ever been to a concert that is hosted in a club..like a club appearance kind of thing so i had no idea what to expect. Well what i got out of it was a lot of girls obviously huge bow wow fans pushing and shoving. It was manic ...the crowd was swaying back and forth and a huge fight commenced when my guy threw his top into the crowd. To be honest if i was standing near where he tossed his top at.. i probably wouldn't even have attempted to make a dive for it just for the sake of my own livelihood :-/ really wasnt going to get killed by the mob of fans for a bow wow top..no offence.
Anyway so i thought i'd share a few good pics and videos... Enjoy

Friends we made that night :)

in my local off license lol

the man himself ...he is gorgeous and so small..cute :)

What a truly fantastic ratchet evening this was. Was lucky enough to bump into his manager who hooked me and my two best friends with a VIP meet and greet at his hotel. He stayed at the Westminster Plaza. He's got such soft hands and a gorgeous smile. Painfully polite too :) pictures of that night to follow
